I think this IS the one... NEED ADVICE
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=22
1997 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight LSS
104k miles, every option but sunroof and no SC Series II () the older guy who told me about it said he thought it had two owners, only two problems, those being a recent dimple in the back bumper ($200 quote to fix, body people said it was an easy fix) and the LR window doesn't go down. Nothing Tires 50%. Said he drives it around.
Kind of worried that the guy had it in their as a private owner, when he really is part of an estate liquidators business, and as such has to sell cars the dealer way - tax, title, etc. >:( Did I miss something that they charge, besides sales tax and the title and tag transfer? I hope it isn't over $250...
He has it in there for $3900. He said he'd take no lower than $3000, not counting the dealer charges.
VIN is: 1G3HY52K4V4843674
... Well? Is it worth it? What should I check? Is there a way to check for the intake plenum problem all the Series II 3800s have? Anything else I should check? Thanks again for all the help, guys

Holy Crap! I messed up with it'* classification on KBB. It books for like $4300 dollars! I accidentally called it an 88 LS, instead of the LSS it actually is . I better bring money down with me

In my mind that is as good as it gets. For that price you can't get much more. LSSs are some of the nicest cars out there with better interiors then imports, yes you heard me, imports, the cars that are known for flawless interiors. I paid $5000 for mine, then again I do have the */C series 2 and a sunroof. The retail on mine was $6200 so I got a great deal. I have the same miles as that one. I'm almost positive that even a non- */C'ed LSS has a retail of over $5000. I'd go for it.
