Ouch. That's like putting my dad's car versus mine. He has a durango.... sadly.
|
Anyone know if that was a designed crumple zone in the roof of the Durango? If so its not in the best place IMHO.
|
it was a 95+ bonneville
|
Yar, dual air bags.
|
I didn't even recognize it as a bonneville when I read the paper. At least no one was killed. There was another wreck that happened about 20 minutes earlier somewhere else with a 99 ford taurus and a passenger died- none of those occupants wore their seatbelts.

That is an SE/SLE from the spacing of what's left of the fogs and the narrow cladding on the sides. But from what I'm seeing, it could be anything from 92-99. Probably not a 92, as it would have to be an SSEi to have dual airbags. |
And imagine that.... it's a white bonnie too!

Don't you just love how the roofs on SUV's crush like coke cans?

Hm, I thought all bonnies 92+ had dual airbags... I'm gonna go check
|
My 94 SE/SLE only had the single in the steering wheel...nothing in the passenger dash.
|
Jseabert's 93 SSE doesn't, but most did. No SE from 92/93 will. Apparently not all 93SLE's as well, if any.
Not sure when duals started, but my loaded 95SLE has duals, as does my 93SSEi. |
INTERESTING...
Looks like it was standard on SSEi's in 92, as you said, and then it was included in an option group on SSE "1SB" models... |
When did the dual airbags requirement come into effect? That could be the reason it was an option up to a certain year.

I believe in 1995 dual air bags were standard on all bonnevilles across the board ;)
And I think your right Driver... It may have been 97.. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
