Went out to go to work today, start the car, car turns over twice, than just goes poof, lets out a big cloud of smoke, and all power goes out in the car. I was puzzled by this, pop the hood, shut the door, and take a look. i poked around, didnt notice anything horribly wrong, so i went to jump back in to see what i got, go to open the door, only to find out that the door locked itself when it shut. So i called my mom at this point so i could get a ride to work, she was at the store so i had a few minutes to fart around. I tried getting into my apartment. as it turns out, i normally leave my bedroom open about an inch with the thumb lock on it. the window lifted right out of the frame, and sure enough, in a box by the window was a door key to my car <i feel really safe now btw > got the car open, got keys, resecured window, figured out what problem was. i am using a temporary battery connector on the ground, and that lost connection, so the entire car was grounding through the 16ish guage secondary ground. Got it going, then was running fine. Thought it was funny..

Then mom takes my car so i dont have to mess with it in the dark, leaves me her car, says it started fine for her, blah blah blah <you have to know my mom to know what i am talking about>
