Default Speed Kills

This is what can happen if you hit a light pole (a tree and a house) at 136 MPH.

But his parents didn't give him the car. He bought the car himself. If I were to give my child a car like mine I'd definetly get a Diablo Sport Predator to limit the top speed and maybe even the rpm.

Man, that brings back some memories of when I was 24.
It'* a dangerous age. Enough experience to go real fast but not enough to know better.

I did a similar bad mistake when I was 24......decades ago.
My Pontiac Tempest looked almost exactly like that.
The tree pushed the passenger door right up tight to me. The back bumper was 90* to the front bumper. I had a passenger who thankfully was ejected before it hit the tree or he would have been hamburger. Not having his seatbelt on and his window open saved him. Having my seatbelt on saved me.
I walked away, so did my bud.
You don't have to be doing 136 mph when you hit a tree to do that kind of damage.
I was doing 110 mph but by the time I had skidded doing a 360*, flipped upsidedown (that'* when my unseatbelted passenger was ejected out of his open window) then slid on the roof... taking out the 40 mph speed sign...then launching up over the bank and finally hitting the tree upsidedown 10 feet above the ground. I estimate that I hit at about 40 mph.
When I came to, I was hanging upsidedown from my seatbelt. Only got bruises and two stitches. Passenger was only bruised and battered.
Real, real lucky.
Funny how an experience like that gives one a whole new respect for speed.
I replaced that car with a new 6.6 liter WS6 79 Firebird, I still own. It handles the corners much better.

Doesnt look like either bag deployed...not that it would have helped at those speeds but still.

Here is some more info . On the second page a friend of his chimes in and tries to explain what happened but that site is so full of morons they keep on ridiculing the dead.
