Well.... It depends on the year. Have you cleaned the MAF yet? My old 3.8 ran HORRIBLE when cold and the MAF was dirty. Cleaned up a bit when it got warm.

I'm not sure if they had the MAF on the 93'* or if they still used speed density. Part of me wants to say they had a MAF.....

Anyways.... Has the fuel consumption increased?

93 should still be eec-iv, Let it warm up and put it thru a self test.

Wasn't aware it had a MAF screen, I was referring to the actual sensor. Anywhere past 60k on the sensor and it'* a roll of the dice when it starts.

Start off by just unplugging the sensor entirely. If nothing changes, then try cleaning the sensor with some rubbing alcohol, a q-tip, and a steady hand. Gently blow it dry, and try it if that'* the case.

The mileage may be her driving style, or it could be pointing to a bad MAF or maybe even a hung injector.

If it'* got a crack in the distributor cap/coil pack that collects moisture, the moisture could evaporate as it heats up, helping to clean up the running. Had that happen on my old 3.8 too :(
