Holy WTF!!!
Woman dies in ER lobby as 911 refuses to help
How in the name of whatever you hold dear does crap like this happen???? |
OMG I have heard of ridiculous wait times but most ER's take patients on a severity basis. This woman should have been seen to ASAP not left to die in the waiting room.

wow...just...wow

Sounds like it's the fault of the hospital, not the 911 dispatcher. What is the dispatcher supposed to do? The woman was already in a hospital for goodness' sake. That must really be an inner-city $hit-hole if they couldn't even treat her when she was in the lobby of the ER... :x :(

Lawsuit?
Worth millions I bet. 8) Maybe we can get some people to track this that have nothing better to do? High school kids, that means you ;) |

High school kids, that means you ;) Seriously, though, that's just horrible that the hospital wouldn't treat her. That's kinda like the hospital here in Elberton won't deliver babies anymore. Not even on an emergency basis, they'll ambulance people to Athens (30 miles) before they'll deliver babies. EMTs are really getting on the hospital's case about it. |
Crazy. My closest hospital is having a similar thing occurring. People waiting for HOURS to be seen in the ER. I understand things take time, but its just a matter of time before someone dies waiting. I have also heard that people are calling 911 to get help, from the ER....sad.

Unaffordable health care + low-income + overburdened inner-city ER = dead patient(s)
From the article: County and state authorities are now investigating Rodriguez’s death. Relatives reported she died as police were wheeling her out of the hospital after the officers they had asked to help Rodriguez arrested her instead on a parole violation. Sheriff’s Department spokesman Duane Allen said Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing. Though the hospital will likely get sued, I assure you the LAPD (and the city in general) will be on the target list, too. |
