Default Bosch Plantium +4'* are they worth it goods/bads

Are Bosch plantium +4'* worth it to get? My cutlass ciera 3.8l v-6 I put those in there and it ran good for like 2 weeks then it started misfiring at 5000 rpm and 2 weeks later my engine went (threw rod) dunno if it was neccisarly the spark plugs but can these wreck a engine fast? I drive a 1995 ford contour 2.0l I4 and I am neck and neck with my friend in his 1995 Dodge Avenger ES 2.5l v-6 dohc 24valve until about 85 mph he pulls alittle on me and at 110 my front of the car is about halfway on his car so will bosch plantium +4'* put me over the top and make me beat him? My mods are a high flow air filter and a performace muffler (dunno name but its looks like a cylinder that you can see through like a cherry bomb but much phatter chromed out and has a silencer i cant get out right now) he has no mods except his high flow air filter is off so he has no air filter at all and its on my car lol but would this make me gain more hp without hurting my 1995 ford contour 2.0l I4 it has 143k miles leaks oil and tranny fluid but not bad (hopefully will stop leaking after my stop leaker stuff i bought today) good idea or not?

If you're putting them in the Ford, you may wanna check with Ford people (automotiveforums.com might be a start for ya). Bosch and Bonne'* don't mix very well.

I did put them in my 90 Cutlass Supreme Sl and they lasted the 3 years I had the car ( hehe, too much a PITA to change the rear ones, have to tilt engine forwards to get to them). But they worked very well in that car.

+4'* in my car ran like well, simply put, crap. Managed to actually go back to Canadian Tire and get an exchange for AC Delco Rapidfires. For used plugs, yeah :?

You bought performance mods before actually fixing you car?

If memory serves you have a DOHC 2.0.... Decent little engine, I forget if its got timming chain/* or a timming belt.... But I think the plugs will be ok in the Contour
