Hey, it's still in development, who knows where it might lead.

It works, doesn't it? No chance of getting a flat

SSE14U24ME 07-15-2005 07:07 PM

I don't like it. I wouldn't trust it.

SSsuperchargedEi 07-15-2005 08:26 PM

that looks cool!!!

Gumball 07-15-2005 08:30 PM

I hope they don't catch on. I think they look fugly

swartlkk 07-15-2005 09:54 PM

I don't think they could ever be done without having the sidewalls there. Even if the sidewalls were just there to keep crap out from between the rims and the tread.

Damemorder 07-15-2005 10:28 PM

They're going to have to cover the sidewall, Just for the consumers who don't like change. But they're awesome.

1993 SLE 07-15-2005 11:07 PM

but they are light as hell

SSE14U24ME 07-15-2005 11:28 PM

I don't think it would offer the traction needed and I'm sure it would get gunked up with snow and mud. Seems more of a fad like the spinners are.

Thats why you dont see low profiles and spinners being driven in the snow and mud from smart and respectable drivers

What about when you are taking a curve at 65 mph? Is it going to provide enough traction?

I would think there would be ratings out just like we have now. If I can take curves with the slicks I got on now, then I would imagine a name brand company like this aint gonna take a shortcut and kill people because of faulty designs.

ioxmo 07-16-2005 04:51 AM

I wouldn't want them. I think they're fugly, too.

dbeast420 07-16-2005 06:48 AM

Kinda interesting though.............

The inner ribs deform if something is hit!!!

Haro needed a set of these when he tried the "Bonneville curb jump"

james tharp 07-16-2005 11:48 AM

hn

Perhaps they could work with a side wall. They would give alot more or less roll perhaps. plus if enginered right would they need to be infalted with a side wall. I guess the question would be on performance and wear. VS cost and such.

repinS 07-16-2005 11:57 AM

I'm willing to venture that there aren't sidewalls now because it's for show.

If it ever makes it to market, I'm betting that they'll cover it up.

No traction during a turn? Look at that big contact patch

NERV 07-16-2005 12:22 PM

Relatively old news, i tihnk a better idea for a tire that wont go flat is sometihng with a soft foam core and the tire would be around it for traction and strength. better than solid rubber cause that would be heavy and not as flexible

MOS95B 07-16-2005 12:26 PM

Problem with a soft foam core is it has "memory". Look at your favorite chair. Even when your butt's not in it, your butt's in it....

NERV 07-16-2005 12:45 PM

yea but it would still be airtight because of the surrounding tire, if it got a puncutre it would eventually go flat but you could have a week ro something to change the tire
