well here is a little story for you guys. I was hanging out with my gf and she was talking about how crappy her car was running and the crappy mileage. well I took the car out and cahnged the oil, plugs, wires and fuel filter and topped off the coolant and did a seafoam through it. here is the bad news before she was getting roughly 20MPg average and now she saw as high as 36 and that was after all that just goes to show what a good running motor can do vs a poorly running one

curious. what kinda car..and how many miles on it...also..how many miles since LAST tune up?

1987 olds calais wi th the 2.5 "iron Duke". the only thing left to change is the o2 sensor. as for the last time done she says she can't remember it being done, by the looks of the plugs and the amount of crap in the fuel filter I would say awhile. The fuel filter looked like i was pouring muddy gas out. the plugs had the electrode completely white. the car has 160+ K on it. and the seafoam took at least a full 10 mins to completely disapate the thck white smoke

I might guess that car never had a tune up. It is amazing what a difference it can make.
