Default Question about bass speakers

I was helping with my neighbor car. The one bass speaker ins't work after doing some electric testing found their is power get to the speaker but it is notfiring(i test all the way up to were the wiring goes into the coil). He must have be runnning them really load their are some small tears is the speaker. IS it possible to ahve blowen coil. For the record the car is ford mustang 2004 say it does mid 12.Has put a turbo charger on it as well rebuilt motor with better parts and put in better tranny. Say he invest about 10000 into car. Have no question it could do that he was leaving tire marks for about quarter mile. To bad I don't have vid camera would have posted it.
