help for a friend.. [please read]

Ok guys.. I figured you'd be able to help me out on this one. I have a friend, she is 18 and is on the computer too much.. well one day she put up an away message, telling me to call her, along with her phone number. Well today she is bombarded with phone calls by a guy she does not know, and of course being a typical girl, picked up the phone, even though she did not reconize the number. Well now she has resorted to not even picking up the phone, because he calls her every 2-5 minutes. I was on the phone with her for maybe 4 minutes, and he had called twice in that time. I have the number.. but I want some advice before I call it, or if the number doesn't work, and he calls her, to be on the phone then. You know I have to help her out on this, because I don't know how many times she has helped me out on stuff, and I really must return the favor, even though I have no clue what the hell I am getting myself into. I know how to caller id spoof, so that won't be an issue.

If he is calling that much, maybe a 3-way conference with police dispatch. Notify police before hand and when he calls back, comference them in.

Call the phone company and ask them to block that number from calling, or else if all else fails get a new number that is unlisted. The police won't get involved unless there is threatening messages being relayed. But still, start recording what is said so that there is some proof of what is happening.

I don't know if I want to get him into trouble.. well maybe I do, I just want to scare him off. She is really scared right now, and is going through a lot of shit.. and the last thing she needs is the cops involved. I will check up on her later on tonight.. and see if she's okay.. if she has calmed down, and I feel she is able to make a decision, I think I will ask her what she wants to do, and proceed from there. What I do know, is the cops around here don't like me due to some legal issues which are resolved now.. but still, they don't like me, let alone pretty much all youth around here.. we all the bad guys, and its us against them as they see it.

Well, just got back from her house a few minutes ago.. and she doesn't want the police involved if at all possible. And the guy has stopped calling, but if he does again, she will put me on the line when he calls, and I will surely scare him away.. because I don't sound my age.. which will always come in handy when scaring people.. and sometime attracting people.. [the ladies included] Hopefully she and I were over reacting.. and this will all settle.. I may call this guy later on tonight.. perhaps at 4 am or so.. :-D

It sounds like she doesn't really want to activity to stop then? Folks shouldn't be so scared to file a police report when they see/hear/witness crimes. Depending on your jurisdiction, she may be able to file a Telephone Harassment report. She could then get a trace on her line (which many phone companies will not do UNTIL a police report has been filed), which would allow the police to find out exactly who is calling and deal with them properly. Trying to scare the caller with vague, deep-voiced threats will only get you involved directly, which is a bad idea. My 2 cents...

Well.. If you have both decided not to have police involvement.. there's a few options

1.) Have her calls forwarded to you.. ( or to the police station?? hahahahaha )
2.) Oh hell.. post his number all over the GAY MEN lookin for hot A$$ forums..

Answer her phone "Three Oaks Police Department, Officer Stiznowski speaking"

End of problem.
