Default printer ink

I just bought a used printer and was wondering what others do about ink since mine is out of color.

I buy ink from aftermarket vendors. It'* usually 1/4 the price of OEM ink.

I've had bad luck refilling my own as well as buying from an online source. So I just buy new.

Usually buy new, but I saw Office Depot near home will refill for half the price, so I'm going to try that next time.

I buy new, but I get the Staples brand for my Canon. I had bad luck several years ago buying online no name brand. I ended up getting a new printer because of it. I think it wouldn't print some of the color, and the black looked crappy. I figured it was probably just bad or old ink, but I didn't want to shell out $35 on a new cartridge and find out it was the printer, so I just bought a new one for like $100 that was newer and printed nicer.

Walgreens does it for $10 black, and $15 color

/shameless plug

Results can be pretty good. IIRC we might be doing another free refill day again.

Buy a new printer. Destroy the world by throwing out plastics.

'Aftermarket' inks are horribly inferior. Especially when it comes to smudge proof or water fastness.

"What do you do when your printer runs out of ink?"

Now that is a loaded question but you want to refill if possible.

What brand and model printer do you have?

Epson is in the process of banning the sell of aftermarket pre filed carts in the US.

Canon and Epson both have implemented new software to prevent the refilling of ink carts on new printers.

PS: Any one not refilling Canon carts I will be glad to take the empties of your hands.
