Ha, Just Like I Thought
Chrysler, they haven't changed. Last year I made a post about the new 5.7L Hemi and the pin controling the cylinder deactivation. I said it wouldn't last 100K. Today at a waiting room I read a long term test of the Magnum in a mag. At 30K it developed a vibration in the steering wheel at idle. Turns out it was still running on 4 cly. at idle when its only supposed to at highway cruising. Take heart L27 owners, you're first hemi kills may be right around the corner. Hahaha

Ow, I can't wait.

While I do question the durability of the cylinder deactivation/DOD/whatever the latest buzzword for it is, one can hardly take such a micro-level example as indicative of a problem representative of a whole line of vehicles.
Problems occur in vehicles all the time, does't mean that new technology is always inherently flawed, although I will admit that it is possible for it to be. |
