I had a buddy with one, rattle can, bad head gasket, French hard to get cheap parts.

Shoot for an older Datsun or Toyota pickup of the same vintage, i hear they're making a come back?

Hey if its in good condition heck yeah!!! You would turn more heads than someone driving a vette etc.

If you dont get it look for a decent running Yugo those will get the looks for sure and be cheap cheap on fuel.

Oh now that is cool. But spare parts are going to be a PAIN to find. Engine and transmission parts will probably be easier than anything else. Interior parts.....woof. If it needs engine work, there are a couple guys out there making some good performance motors for SCCA type cars. This would be one of those cases where a new full-race (HA!!!) motor would be cheaper, and EASIER, than a stock rebuild.

SBC swap and weld together a full frame for it out of scrap tubing. What a sleeper.

My girlfriends dad has a late 70'* (I think) Datsun 280Zx. That baby is a GEM. It is fully loaded from the factory, and my girlfriends grandpa (who bought the car) opted for the "Sexy Voice" when the car talks to you. Thats right, this baby doesnt blink when your door is ajar, it says it in a breathy womans voice. Its AWESOME
