Default Got the fans, now what?

Well, i got adventureous, and dug around my room. found 2 old power supply fans, one about the size and output of your average case fan, and then a bigger one that moves so much air you dont know if your case can breath it all <im sure it can, but thats not the issue>. the only fans in the case right now are my power supply fan and the cpu fan. how should i set it up? with the big fan exausting out the back, or blowing in over the hard drives? the smaller one will go where the big one doesnt. what are your thoughts on this?

My LianLi case has two front bottom fans blowing in (pulling cold air in) across the 4 drive bay at the bottom and the fans at the rear suck out the hot air.
Having front and rear fans blowing out won't cool as well as pulling air through the case

ummmm so youre using fans out of a power supply? now im not 100% sure on this, but all the power supply fans i have seen use a 2 pin power connector, which you will not find anywhere but the power supply...regular case fans use either a 3 pin or 4 pin...so i think you will quickly be running into problems if thats the case...

you are correct, but that is not a concern of mine. i am just going to wire them up so they feed off of the 12 volts, because that is all they use.

My case has two pulling in and they push over the HD'* then two pushing out the back plus the power supply pushing out. Airflow is key and it'* always nice in there.

It'* all good, just don't steal wattage from your processor or memory...or...bad things happen...

Or make sure you have at least a 450w power supply.

fans only use a couple of watts in reality. I have mine set up with a fan mounted at back of the hdd bays sucking in air from the front, then a 120mm fan at the back pushing it out. then there is also a small fan in the rear of the case near the video card sucking it out.

While that is true, if you overclock at all on the CPU, memory, or AGP slot, you use up a 300w power supply very quickly.

Also, if it'* a newer mb at all with a p4 comparable processor with pc3200 RAM, and you have 350w power supply, you're living life on the edge as it is.

well, its only a p3 1ghz, but my main concern was the video cards that kept overheating <i can smell them hot overheating>. now, it is sucking in so much air, that i am going to have to clean my desk so that nothing gets sucked into it.

cheers,
