Ford versions, early or mid 90s.....14', yeah the midsize ones.

What do they have for power?

Should I dump some acetone in the tank to see if it gets some great MPG???

edi: just found this pic...looks like what I will be getting:

I hear that a 100 shot of nitrous gives them all the power they need.... but this is not from personal knowledge....

Umm...probably not. The 5.7(351cid) has always been an option motor, and U-Haul buys the cheapest trucks they can, to keep overhead down.
The ones that were built in the 80'* and early 90'* usually had the 300cid inline six, so they didn't have to gear them low. Those engines had massive amounts of torque down low, in fact you had to drive them like a diesel (shift at or before 4000rpm) to keep them happy.
After that, I think they started using the smaller V8s, like the 5.4.

well the 4.9 300 six is favored more the the 5.0V8 when using it in that appilcation(moving truck)
and only the 351 and 460 have more over the 4.9 300 six

oh well moved all my **** over today and it was a ford pos with a VERY VERY small v8. I managed to get 6mpg going 62 or 63mph for 250 miles. I was half tempted to get some spark plugs at autozone, maybe an air filter because that engine was starving very bad and it took me pumping the gas (yes It was fuel injected) just to get it to stay running. (yes it is 50* outside).

After putting near 50 gallons of gas in for the trip at 2.25 a gallon I had had more than enough for one day.

the highight of the trip was seeing a 2000+ bubble butt bonnie roar by me at 100mph+....dam* oregon drivers (no offense bill)....that thread of the "using your blinkers....and speeding bonnevilles" post came to mind LOL. .
