IMO the meat should not have been used, BUT jail time is a bit extreme. That poor kid now has a record because of his managers lazyness

Another over-the-top reaction from the nation that has the most spoiled consumers in the world. Add to that, an abuse of the powers that were entrusted to the officer by the people, and you have this, yes "pathetic", story.

Reminds me of the cop that sprayed pepper spray in the face of a McDonald'* employee who he thought gave him the wrong change. I lose more respect for law enforcement every time I hear crap like this.

Just try to remember though that these jerks do not represent the majority of the force. As in every group of people, there will be those who are jerks/morons and the larger majority that do their job and uphold the law as they are paid to do.

For every one of these jerks, there are many more good solid people putting their lives on the line every day.

What bothers me the most about this particular story is that the charges were pressed even after there was knowledge that this was not a targeted offense directed at the officer, but an error in judgement by the supervisor who should have had all that meat thrown out.

To then press charges and villify the employee who screwed up initially, is unconscionable and smacks of a personal vendetta and abuse of enforcement power.

as a McDonalds Employee, i find that complete BullS***.
Yea they shouldv'e not served the meat, but that was WAY over the top w/ jail time.
That right there is an example of a cop getting a big head w/ too much power.

I agree the majority of police probably are upstanding people. But when the public sees stories like this, the reputations of law enforcement as a whole gets damaged. Unfortunately 90% of the police I've been pulled over by don't fall into the honest and upstanding crowd. And hearing things like this skews my view of police in general. Because of my experiences I tend to believe that most are dishonest unless they prove otherwise, or "guilty until proven innocent." It shouldn't be that way, but for me it is.
