Got a small promotion
 

Got a Email today regarding performing at the Renaissance faire. Been doing it for a long long time. And as some of you know I'm a street performer. Basically I perform to a few people in small groups. I've been doing larger shows but for the most part, just being in the show. Well, looks like that has changed this year. The number one barbarian wont be performing this year. I was asked to take his place, and I said yes. What this means is I will have a wireless microphone and need to do all the announcing. Ya, I have to do it in front of 4 large grandstands. As comfortable as I am performing in front of people, this is new. I must say, I'm a little stressed. I only have to do 38 shows and 18 parades. :cool:

Thats great news. Congrats. I would love to see one of your performances in person. Ever plan on coming way out east? :D lol

Furthest east I've gone is Ohio. Hard to travel to do this when you have kids.

I wouldn't say I'm making a profit. I have several grand tied up in garb. Animal pelts can cost a small fortune. I still want a lion. :thumbup2

lol i get ya well as long as you enjoy thats all that matters right!..Would you rather do what you norm do or what you get to do from now on?

As much as I enjoy being a performer, I don't think I would want to do it for a living. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

yeah it probably would!

Besides, the weekends are long. I get up at 4am, and may hit the pillow about 11pm, then up again around 5:30am and get home around 9pm. And do that for 9 straight weeks. Except the last weekend, that's 3 days.

Congrats. And I know you will do great and Love it once it becomes routine.

Most of what I do is improv. The battles are staged to a point. We let the other side win, but hold them off until we choose. most of the time. I do have a script to follow, so I guess I'll have some reading to do.

Number 1 Barbarian,,, I love it, congrats. I would expect even more babes visiting you at the fair and driving your wife nuts....

You do all Renaissance faires in the area, Dan, or just major ones? Forgive the unintelligence on the part of this, but i don't know how the "circuit" works. My wife wants to go to a Faire sometime soon. And i have no idea how they work - are they on every other weekend, once a month, or even fewer? Are there many of them around so you can hop each weekend or again, just a few?



It's mind boggling how many Barbarian Hordes we still have around!

Every area is different. There's several in my area, many small, only one big one. I mainly do the bigger ones but have been playing at the smaller ones as well. The big one I do here is 9 weeks.
