My wife called me while she was on her way to work Saturday morning. She knows I've been wanting a decent toolbox, but am too cheap to buy a good one like the one I want, especially since it would run $300-600 for what I'd like. She said that she had just passed a garage sale that had a "nice" toolbox out in the driveway for sale.

So I grabbed what little cash I had on hand and headed out to check it out. Long story short, it'* a keeper. I talked the guy down to $100 cash (all I had on me). He was selling it because he is a mechanic by profession and had just purchased a $1000 Husky toolbox set up.

It'* complete with ball-bearing drawer guides, no-slip inserts in the drawers, and a plastic socket organizer that I'm not sure I'll use. The only thing wrong is that the power tool storage at the bottom has a broken lock. Not a big concern for me, as I'm a home user and won't have a need to keep light-fingered co-workers from taking my tools.

Oh yeah, but Santa is tool challenged, so I'll have to treat myself.

It'll take me a while to pull all the tools I've got scattered in drawers and on shelves and get them in it. Then I can make a list...check it twice...be naughty, and nice...

First order of business was to make room for it and still get the car in the garage. Now that'* done. Tonight I spend slowy organizing tools etc.

do yourself a favor.

Put the tools on the floor in groups..then look at height, space needed etc. That will help you choose which drawer. Plus.. the stuff you use the most should be at the best height.
