just be sure to thoroughly inspect and test the unit within the 90 day period. i have gotten a lot of stuff refurbished. the only failure i have had so far is with a cd burner that lasted just over a year.

jason i dont either, but buying a receiver and custom speaks arent in my price range right now. and that give me optical input and component in and out. so i think thats my best bet. id like to hear it though... best buy carries it for 250 i may have to run down and hope they have it there just to hear it.

My Reciever, CD player and 1st PS2 were all used.
I had to buy a new PS2, it wasn't even fixable anymore. I bought my Palm Vx for $25 (used to go for over 300 new) My subs in my car are used. Quality products shouldn't need to be worried about used or new.
Camera salesman told me a few years ago for them refurbs are almost a non issue, any defects they may have had, have ben cleared up at the factory.

Go for it! There'* always a gamble b/c you generally have a shorter warranty, but most of the time the lower cost up front is worth it. I have bought so much "gently used" stuff (most from eBay of course) that it'* not even funny, and with a few exceptions I've been overwhelmingly successful in receiving quality products.
