The German'* like Bonnevilles
Ok so I have a friend here from Germany who is really into cars. He has ridden in some of the finest "affordable" sports cars including my dream car, the Audi S4 B7. So me and him along with my girlfriend and his decided to go to Sioux City IA for a movie...well he got stuck with an Aveo so there was no way we were all going to fit in that little thing(he'* about 6'8")...so we took my car...he didn't know what I had but when he got in he immediately said that he liked my car...then we got to the highway and I gave it a little gas and the supercharger howled...now he wants one....lol...Ok, so the American car industry has taken blows for being poor quality and not as much fun to ride/drive in as compared to BMW or Audi..he said the interior is actually one of the nicest he has been in in a long time (might be because of the Aveo..lol) I agree but Audi...lol anyways just thought I would share this little tid bit...Just goes to prove that the journalists aren't right on a lot of things...even a few Europeans like American cars...USA

Uhm, Dakota... Saturn is dead too. Pontiac killed itself and I'm not going to "grieve". It died because it could not sell a car for a profit. And it'* killing the Bonneville and rebadging it'* models to European style letter/numbers showed just how out of step it became with traditional Pontiac fan desires. Large, roomy, performance. The G8 was to little to late. The 2006-2010 lineup was IMO pathetic. Didn't care for the styles or smaller chassis'*. G3, G5, G6... Is there really any doubt they shot themselves in the foot. Seeing the success of the new Camaro'*, Corvettes, and Caddys V Series shows Pontiac upper management and R&D had collective head up the azz syndrome. They sold out and tried to refashion Holden'* success that just didn't capitalize here in the States.

all that being said, now we have what we have and i would be happy with a buick "sporty" looks package for dechromed exterior and a dechromed and de-wooded interterior. the chevys are too plain and the caddies are too expensive

HUH????? Mazda is a Ford inbreed import. I like what Buick has done with the Regal. Unfortunately for the rank and file who can only afford mid scale vehicles, the Feds have placed regulations on automakers and stiff fines/fee'* (depending on who you ask) for gas munching power. And why muscle cars (models of that actually have power) are approaching or topped $50,000. Base Price doesn't mean a thing. Go to the Charger, Mustang, or Camaro websites and build one up and see how fast your wallet drains. Bob Lutz left GM stating the Feds had made an environment where he could no longer build cars he was passionate about at a price people could afford. His exit statement really says it all.
