The Other Bonneville Forum
I don't see why there has to be two. It is too hard for me to look at both all the time, and I really don't want to become a member there, cause then I have to worry about more usernames and passwords.
Why can't we just combine these two forums and make everyone happy?

The new forum, BIP, was created in for people who want their Bonneville information and not have to deal with the sometimes "chatty" nature of BC. Their ship is MUCH more tightly run, for better or for worse. A lot of people don't really like the fact that they don't take any BS over at the new forum, and those who rock the boat certainly aren't made welcome.
Many BC members are BIP members as well. Personally, I like the choice. BIP arose from the old bonnevilleintensity site run through Yahoo!. BIP effectively takes the place of bonnevilleintensity.

The other forum is not affiliated with this one nor will it ever be. They are being run by different people for different reasons. Like mentioned in the previous reply, it was to replace bonnevilleintensity. Which was created for an information forum not a chat forum. If you are worried about usernames and passwords, use the same user and pass in both. The passwords are encrypted in the database anyhow so no one would be able to find them.

Both forums have their place. I'm glad we have a choice, and I choose both. Call me greedy.
There are some sections on BI that are dedicated SOLELY to performance improvements. Some of them extreme. All of the other sections are a little more specific, so it should be easier to find what you're looking for as the postbase grows.
This one is more of a social atmosphere. I really do like both. I also use the same username and password at both. The format is the same, so it'* easy to get around.
I actually think these two will be good for each other. If you don't like one, you have somewhere else to go. If you like both, you're a happy camper like me!

In a relatively free society, it'* good to have a choice. I'm happy to be a part of both forums. I've been helped equally by both.

I just think it would be more convienient if the two sites merged, so then we could really beat out that GP forum.
I've experienced something similar to this in the Simpsons Web Community. I stick with one forum, full of more techical people, but there is one more big one that attracts the masses. I stay away from that one since they are crazy. After the two forums keep attacking each other, more people broke off and made their own. Now there are about 10 forums in that community, which is just too much. I probably made this topic because I am just a little paranoid with the whole forum splitings.
