Default headaches (help!)

since sunday night (late)/monday morning I have been getting these headaches, about the only time I dont have it is when I take 3-4 advil to dim the pain. Them seem to be focused around my eyes, when I moved them too fast, or press them closed, blink, open them a lot, or pretty much move them at all, it hurts. It makes the whole forehead area and nose really hurts.

This morning I woke up and the back of my head hurt (sort of where your neck muscles end and skull begins.)

This occurs with glasses on or off (even extended periods of both/either)

I dont know what to do, I'm not sure how the medical stuff works at RIT and I know I dont have a doctor in NY. I really dont want to keep popping advil/similar until the pain goes away but idk what to do at this point.

any suggestions?

try this. dont laugh it may work for you. it use to work for me on major hangover headaches. (not that you have one)
its kind of like acupuncture.

make a C with your left hand, now that piece of skin between your thumb and first finger
take it and pinch it. not real hard but not soft either.I want you to message it
for at least couple of minutes.
it may hurt/annoy you after a minute or so but thats the point. it takes your mind off off
your headache.

Good luck

Or, soak a washcloth in warm water, lay back, and put the warm washcloth on your forehead...

What'* with all the "My xxxx hurts.." posts?? Must be the weather change. We're all falling apart.

Worse yet, why do I have an answer for all of them????

Have you been stressed with work or anything lately? Overdoing things (work, etc)? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you a coffee drinker?

If you don't normally get headaches, then its probably related to something going on in your life. That'* why I asked the questions above. If it'* tension/stress related, then you need to unwind... Could just mean that you need more rest as well.

About the coffee question. Some people react differently to caffiene withdrawal than others. Many people can drink coffee during the week and be without it on the weekends. Caffiene withdrawal can trigger headaches in some people (I am one of them).

This is coming from a severe migraine sufferer that has normal headaches almost everyday.

If I can catch my migraines before they fully take hold, I can take an Excedrin Migraine and be ok. If I don't catch them, I have a barbituate that I can't remember the name of that will knock me out for 8+hrs and I'll wake up fine, but I also used to have seizures related to my migraines...

My migraines are light/sound/motion sensitive so I really can't do anything. On the really bad ones, a simple thing like getting out of bed to use the bathroom will cause me to passout from the pain. I have to move like I'm in some slow motion scene.

For my normal headaches... Well, it depends on how much it is annoying me as to if I take anything. At most, I'd take a Tylonol or Advil and work through it. I'm not a big pill person though so I rarely take anything, especially the perscription drug.

What you have there is a Migrane!! When you get them, you need to lay in a dark room with no lilghts and put a cool towel over your forehead.

Caffeine can bring them on as well as sweets, and stress. If you get them often, you can get a prescription to help stop the headaches.
