Default FUKCING GAWDAMN DRYER!!!

our electric bill at the house is usually $108-112

the last bill that I got, which is the last bill at this house, is $318!!!!!!!

I shut down all the breakers and did them one by one. The 220v breaker was just flying when it was on by itself. Turns out the dryer that I scored for free, decided to break and pull current even when it was not on.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there anything I can tell the electric company to get my bill reduced?

Nope just have to pay it. At least the drier was free so you are not out purchase price as well.

I assume you've tested your theory to ensure it is the dryer... like unplug the dryer and check the meter and see if it still spins like before.

Unfortunately my entire house is heated and cooled via electric. So a $300 monthy bill isn't so strange for me.... especially since I've got a couple window air conditioners in... any AC running on that 220v circuit?

That makes me think. I looked at mine a couple days ago when there shouldn't have been much on, and that thing was BOOKIN'. Our budget billing is at $200.

Are you sure that 220v breaker is the dryer and not the water tank :?:

Maybe you need to take more cold showers.

Pay the bill and consider yourself lucky it wasn't for $3,000.
