Default Random Act of Kindness

So, I am driving my buddies car while he is out of town.
Stupid gas gauge doesn't work. About 1 block past the gas station and guess what. Out of gas.
So I walk down, get a gas can, $1.00 in gas.
Back to the car. Stupid can wasn't working right on the old car (84 Eagle)
Anyway, guys pulls up behind me in like an 07 Suburban. Says he has a bigger can and he'll be right back. Brings back a full 5 gallon can, pours it all in and says not to worry about paying him back.
Very cool.
Just had to share.

I hold the door open for alot of ppl...

I figure I'd put this here too:

Quite a few months ago I was coming home from eating at Taco Bell. Driving on ILL 251 and when I was acclerating after stopping at an intersection a Plymouth neon ALMOST hit me and another vehicle by passing diagonally between us. And that car kept swirving through the 2 lane traffic. Then, heres the fun part. The light is red ahead and we're all stopping... That neon never stopped and REARENDED a latemodel Honda minivan. The car flew into the ditch on the right and the minivan went into the other road. What did I do? I pulled over (in my 1990 buick regal) and went to the guy in the neon. Guess what? HE WAS DRUNK!!!!! F***ING DRUNK!!!!

After I tried to get his attention or a word from him, I ran over to the van and some other ppl we're looking at them (as a cool note they we're in a bonneville) 911 was already called and arrived shortly. I stayed and gave a statement and described what I saw.

AFTERMATH

The guy driving the neon was arrested and the car was a total wreck. Everyone was ok in the minivan except for the driver which had to go to the hospital :(. Van was pretty smashed in the back but looked like it was repairable.

Overall that was some scary **it. Strongly reminded me not to drink and drive (or drink at all) Oh and the tacos I was bringing home went cold :( (this was like sometime in jan-feb 07)

I don't know if doing that was an "act of kindness" or not but I figured It had to take someone the ballz to go see if everyones alright...

Well, I guess I can consider this kindness, but any accident I see clearly, I pull over with the people involved and act as a witness so no one gets in trouble (of course, along with making sure everyone is alright, which is not really kind but just basic instinct). A lot of people fail to act because they diffuse responsibility or just assume everyone is fine, but I figure it can never hurt to ask if everyone'* okay even if they are. You never know if there'* a baby in the car or if they're carrying something that might have moved and hit them in the accident.

Yeah, it'* definitely good to check on people when they're in accidents. And I help people push their car off teh road when it breaks down, or out of the ditches and snowbanks every winter, but this guy just gave up like $15 buck. I thought that was pretty cool.

This happened to me last August......

I walked out of the store behind her and without saying a word, pulled the car over beside hers and hooked the hose up in the trunk and then to the spare she was putting on. It didn't have a hole in it,just low on air.

She was still standing on the side walk talking to someone that had walked out of the store with her and she looked over and saw what I was doing. She walked over and I told her it would take a minute and I'd have her all fixed up.

We started talking and in 2 or 3 minutes the tire was full and I unhooked the hose and started rolling it back up. She asked me if she owed me anything for putting air in her tire. I told her nothing at all.,just remember me in a prayer. She gave me a hug and told me that there needed to be more people willing to help someone in need.

Oh and I forgot.

In march and I was at work, they wanted me to take the grease bucket out (yuck) so I'm going out and My c-worker john was taking out the trash. I noticed there was a car stuck in the grass right off the service road. It was a subcompact car, don't know the model but It wasn't american. She yells for help and we go and try to push her out. We tried for about 10 minutes to no avail. I asked if she had some floormats which she had some old ones in the trunk. Together with us pushing, the floormats for traction and her driving we got her out. So we head back in covered in snow and say what happens and the managers didn't compain about us being gone for about 1/2 hour.

So I realized how much fun pushing a little car out of the snow can be
