Friday, November 11th

Just a reminder. Friday is Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada

Regardless of your feelings regarding current situations, please take a moment to think of those who have served, or are serving, your Country to protect your way of life and that of others...

I was that which others did not want to be.

I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do

I asked nothing from those who gave nothing and reluctantly
accepted the thought of eternal loneliness...should I fail.

I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging cold of fear;
and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment's love.

I have cried, pained, and hoped...but most of all,
I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.

At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud
of what I was .... a soldier.

Oh yeah, I turn 41 that day, too.....

We have the memorial service tomorrow for the kids at the school. There are 2 going on at the same time, one at Jessica's school and one at Andrew's. Unfortunatly I can only go to one, so I will go to Andrew's, that's where I work. I think it is very important that the kids see and hear and learn. Thanks Mos, for reminding all of us.

As you pause to think of us in the armed forces, I want to show what we are thinking on the same day-

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute To our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is By taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country."

Not trying to get off topic, but I thought I'd share the URL with some excellent pics of what's going on over there now. Never forget! I friend of mine's step-son is a WO and an Apache driver. This is the site of his unit....

Lest we never forget our heros. Without their efforts, what we have today would not exist.

Few of my soldiers in my squad served with this man. We remember him each year, for his actions. thanks for supporting those around you that are in, over there, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Being a long term "peacenik", I'd like to add something. Feelings about past or current wars has nothing to do, in my mind, with those who have answered the call to serve. My brother served in Vietnam, and several people from work have served in Iraq. I have the upmost respect for veterans, and those currently serving. They deserve our support, and encouragement, and not just today!

Uncle in the airforce....many friends in the service. We love you...America loves you...we support all of you...and we salute you respecftfully today. Those present and those past. God Bless America!

I agree, being "anti-war" does not mean the sacrifices of others go unappreciated. Lest we Forget...

In my opinion, nobody wants war less than those that have to go fight it. I know when Desert Shield/Storm happened, we were all scared shotless. But, it also kinda validated our years of training. We didn't really want to go, but we knew we'd do the best damn job we posiibly could....

Thank you to all who fought for our rights, freedoms and families. Thank you for all the sacrifices that you and your familes made so my family could live without fear. We should not only honour these people one day a year, we should honour them all the year long.

What is 41th? ;)

I am thankful to all the men and women who have made the supreme sacrafice to protect the very freedoms I hold near and dear to my heart. Without their valient, unselfess acts of kindness and generosity we might be living entirely different lifestyles and be forced to drive ricemobiles. :usa2:
