What do you guys think about ..
Today in my computer aided design class, my friend got hit in the forehead with a piece of chalk by the teacher.
He was talking, but there were quite a few others talking too.
He waited till class was over to talk to the teacher and he told the teacher that he didn't have a right to do that, the teacher replied that he did. My firend said, well what if i think i have the right to punch you right now? The teacher said go a head and my friend said no, hes not going to stoop to his level. The argument got pretty heated but didn't end up physical.
I was talking to my dad about it (cop for 35 years) and he said that'* assault.
So, my friends going to the department head and dean.
Anyways,
Pretty messed up right?

Get used to it. I had a college professor that threw markers in class to sleeping students and would pound the desks/tables with rulers right by there head. Point is, dont be sleeping in work (which at that age is school for everyone)

Yea, it was a little risky with todays schools and what not. I know I would throw some chalk at my friends if I were the teacher. I would wind up like Nolan Ryan and let it fly!! But immature is the correct term.

Better than the books that a 3rd grade teacher here threw when I was in Elemental school. My vo-tech teacher had a 45 lbs 2 3/4" wrench he kept under his podium...When anyone fell asleep in class, he'd drop it on the table about 2 feet away from their head from about 4 ft in the air....LMAO I think some kids seriously **** themselves. If we didn' have our safety glasses on, he'd throw small nuts and washers at us.......But he stopped doing that when we started throwing them back...or bigger objects..... We weren't supposed to have pop in the shop or class room either, and if he saw us with it and it was sitting by itself he'd put a small pinhole in it so it would spill on you when you drank it, Well he only did that to me once, because I found his pop on his desk when he was in the shop and I cut a 1/2" diameter hole in the side and gave him a Coca Cola bath....LMAO....Still one of my favorite teachers to this day...lol.

Yes, better judgement should have been used. Times have changed quite a bit even from when I was a kid, which wasn't too long ago. That stuff wasn't allowed, but it wasn't prohibited. Now, even something as simple as chalk can cause all sorts of problems.

I think it'* funny. wish more teachers were like that. People have gotten too uptight it seems. Before you know it you won't even be able to even crack a joke or have any fun without being reamed for it.

I gotta play "Devil'* Advocate" and wonder what your friend was doing. In this day and age of lawsuits for the dummest crap, I doubt a teacher would even think of something like that unless provoked.
Sorry, but I'm old and cynical....
