Dopple'* 1984 Buick Regal Limited
Ah, Bandit found a couple pics of my Regal. It had probably about 160-170K miles on it in these pictures, Firestone Firehawk SS 235/60R15 tires. I'm pretty sure that this is before the 190K spun rod bearing (yea, over revving it will do that) so it still had the 3.8 2BBL with the Turbo 200 trans. After that engine, i got a 4.1 4BBL from another regal, with the turbo 350 transmission.
I had a SuperStar 250 Linear, hooked up to a Sears Roadtalker 40, which was made by Uniden, so it was really similar to a PC76XL. The sound system was kinda cheezy, I don't remember if I had the 4 "thump" amps in there, with a 4 way targa x-over, and a set of two 8" midbass, and a 12" sub. Eh, mebbe.
That thing sat perfect, too. I loved the ride height I got out of the V8 heavy duty coils in the front, and heavy duty coils with air shocks in the rear. I ran a separate line to each rear shock, so I can preload the right one for better launches on wet pavement. (Dry didn't matter, didnt have enough power to spin 'em.) It also had the added effect of keeping the car more level in cornering. Since the air from one shock couldn't equalize with the air in the other, it just continued to build up pressure and resist body roll. This also made the car a bit looser in the corners, so it would "drift" easier. Heh... no such thing as drifting back then.
Those tires combined with the stiffer springs, and actually having two swaybars (rear was optional on a lot of them), the thing handed pretty damn good. The wheels are Cragar Super Spoke 15x7'*. I got them from a barber in NJ who had an 87 GN. His car got hit by a truck, and decided to save a bit of money and get those wheels instead of GN wheels, later he got a better set of alloy wheels, and gave those to me. They had black paint over red paint in the center, I stripped it off with paint stripper, left them all chrome, way much more better. You can see that the center isn't shiney, like all-chrome ones would be, it'* more of a brushed/scratched/satin finish that cragar used to help the paint stick.
The wheels are still around. They're on a 71 Cutlass Supreme in NJ. Though, they're kinda rusty now, and the cutlass don't move much.
Anyhoo, here are the pics:

Oh, and you can see the front tweeters at the top of the A pillars, so yea, I did have the sound system in it. Pioneer 3.5" and 4x10" speakers, alpine front tweeters, some other brand rear tweeters, and MTX 8" and pyle 12" subs.
