FINALLY!!!

Got the cat converter on the tempo. looking at the old one, i only observed 10-25% blockage though, but noticed one little problem. there was no rear screen. on the converter. where could it have gone? we rattle the exaust system, looking for the screen, and found a rattle in the muffler. we pull the muffler off, and the guy opens it up with a blow torch, and pulls out what look like rocks <pics when i get camera>. i have been wanting to drop a glasspack on it, so i did <$59.95 for part and labor, so what the heck>. much to my dismay though, the car still lacks power <i mean like dog slow, cant go over 25mph in 1st gear slow>. upside though is that the car runs cooler now. neighbor suggest to check the timing regarding the power issue. suggestions?

dont worry, a bonneville is #1 on my wish list ;)

Does that tempo have the 2.3 Port fuel injected 4 cylinder?

Also does it use an MAF or MAP sensor? And when this lack of power happens have you ever noticed if the exahust manifold or Cat was glowing red?

And I'm almost tempted to tell you to check the timming as well...

Hey Jolly......I found a Tempo at the wrecking yard yesterday while John and I were looking for Bonnevilles.

nope, has the electronic feedback carb, with a MAP sensor. cat cant be a problem because it still lacks power with a brand new high flow cat and glass pack.
