Default got a ticket today. - UPDATE

so i got a ticket today. first violation in 4+ years, 56 mph in a 40 mph zone. business zone. the citation doesnt have the amount of the ticket on it, but juding from my coworkers ticket that was a little over $100 for 10 miles over, i cant see mine being much less than $200.

this is making me rethink my mod schedule. maybe ill add a radar detector.

oh, i forgot the reason i was speeding. this is what i told the officer:

"im late for work. i have to be there in 2 minutes or im late." - that was the truth.

although, it sure was nice of him to go back to his car and take 10 minutes to wait for backup before giving me a citation.

because white men driving 4dr family sedans going to work as a jewelry supervisor at a well-known retailer, wearing a tie [and all that goes with] are so very prone to violence. esp when they havent had any violations in 4+ years.

I'd take my chances being late rather than speeding. I don't want to get a Haro.

this is only the second time ive ever seen a cop on this road.

In my experience, Cops dont want to hear your late for work as an excuse for speeding. I was told once by an Ex officer in NH that when they ask you if theres a reason why your speeding today, you simply tell them theres no excuse officer. and thats that. The cop will repsect that more than tellim them your late for work.

Im not saying you werent, trust me. I learned the hard way because I was always running late for work and would always get caught speeding. But it sux either way you look at it. Hop they dont get you for much.

I tried that but it didn't fool me and I just hit the snooze an extra time I am early 98% of the time for everything because I hate to be late for anything. I have a routine I follow every morning.

Getting a ticket sucks bad!!!

jwakamud- is there anything you can do to get out of the ticket like traffic school? They have that here. You can go to a class and pay the ticket (if you are over 21 otherwise you don't have to pay) and the ticket gets wiped off of your record. You are allowed to do that in each county once.
