Ok some members think it'* weird/ unusual etc. that I installed my CD deck myself in my Bonne. I'm curious as to what other females have done in here w/o the help of husbands/ bf'*! I did that, my rear speakers and the easiest ever... my corners! LOL I find this funny! I get impatient waiting for someone to come along who'* done it before, so I go out and figure it out for myself... I'm better off learning it myself I figure!

I can relate to the not wanting to wait around for a guy to fix your stuff. I have tinkered on vehicles here and there. I once attempted to change my alternator in my olds 88 but I didn't have the right tool for one of the screws. I had two of the screws removed and couldn't get the other one. A male friend of mine came by and thought he'd come to my rescue but he couldn't get it either so I had to wait and let my then b/f finish the job.

I recently went to the junkyard to get goodies for the cars and I swapped out my trunk button and the frame to my door lights. Bonnevilles are easy to work on interior-wise because everything snaps on. I watch when my son does something to fix the cars so I can learn also. I wouldn't be too scared to do minor repairs on the engine although I fear I might have some spare parts lol

I junkyards. I find my own parts, and have helped friends find them for their cars after accidents and such. I also can do my own oil changes, tune ups, replace brakes, and do minor bodywork. The most recent (and really minor) thing I did was to replace the fan clutch on the Bonneville and rotate and air up the tires (it'* in storage).

Years ago i did alot of work myself on cars/trucks. I've done brakes, alternator, and rad, but i've never attempted anything on the Bonne. The biggest job i ever did was to change the motor in my 72 chevy p/u. I didn't get to hook everything up though. When i got home from work the then hubby had it all done and it'* a lot easier to change a 350 then a 3800. Too old and a bad back prevents me from doing anything but wash and wax my Bonneville....

Melissa, you are doing fine. Don't ever substitute independence for dykish. I am so far from dykish, I am a girly girl who doesn't like to get my hands dirty but I will. I am fiercly independent and take care of myself. I don't need a man but I appreciate what a man does for me.

Well I can say that doing that stuff on your car doesn't sound dikish but if you want to double check on looks I second a picture.
