When I bought my 1992 SE, I couldnt drive it out of the drive way due to a blown out brake line. But car seemed to run great, and with only 133,000 miles showing on the clock, and after one disappointment after another shopping for a nice 3800 powered car, (most sold before i could buy em or were just out of my price range) I decided to buy it since I brought a Car dolly with me.
Once I got it home I started replacing the brake line, then realised all the brake lines needed replacing, brakes were still unsafe, so brake booster, master cylinder, pads, rotors, shoes, drums, ect were replaced. YAY! Great brakes! Unfortunately when i jacked the car up and attempted to set the back of the car on jack stands, the jack stands went right threw the frame rails that go up into the rear wheel wells, Lots of under body rust.
Front sway bar was also broke, so a Tubular SSEi unit was mounted, Then a clicking started while turning, so a CV shaft was bought and installed, battery was also salfated, so that was replaced.
Im guessing the Odometer was rolled back or replaced with a different one. High beams have never worked.
Carfax also showed that the car was involved in a minor accident, and was later sold at auction. Car milage when sold at auction, was almost 200,000 miles, but when i bought it it read 133,000? Either someone lied, paperwork was messed up or someone messed with the odometer.
But so far the car runs GREAT! I paid $1000 for the car and about $2500 in parts were added, and all labor was done by MG92BONNE and a bit by myself.

"odd it has the stance but i don't recall availability or a ZR2 in Regular cab "
The entire thing is weird, wish I knew. I am just banking on it being so clean underneath as what I discover it will be ok. The rust that Raptor experienced with his purchase means every repair is a hasslle.

I've seen a number of regular cab ZR2, although no they aren't as common as the cab & 1/2 models. and most of them didn't have the big decal on the rear fenders. maybe the decals were an option that didn't get ordered on the reg cabs too often?
When it comes to rust always assume it'* going to be at least 3 times worse than it looks once you get tearing into it to do repairs.

I priced trucks on craigslist for a long time before I bought mine. I found Chevy trucks have the highest price, followed by Dodge and then ford. I went with a Ford because Chevy was $1000 to $1500 more for the same year. Dodge seems to be about $1000 more then Ford. Around here prices are lower because there are so many.

Unless I missed something, and I very well could have lol, I assume the truck is drivable? long shot but what is the truck rated to tow? does it have the 4.3? could you rent a dolly, and drive the truck towing the bonne?
Now that'* the redneck in me coming out I know, not a ideal solution. I've seen people do more unlikely things with the S10 (speaking from first hand experience a bit lol ) and 600 miles would be a helluva work out for it. And fat chance Uhaul would clear you to do that even if the numbers showed the truck was rated for it.
But hey, just trying to think outside the box for you.

Uhaul wont rent a dolly if your planning to pull anything heavier then a lawnmower. I think they are rated for 15 pounds. Tell them your going to tow a Civic. The problem with driving 600 miles to pick up a truck and drive home is, what if it breaks down 20 miles down the road. Then what. Also, the rented car dollies wont fit a full sized truck. I believe there is 68" between the wheels, or was the 64" And if I remember right, trucks are around 72". I don't even think the Bonneville will fit on the dolly. Better off driving down with a friend and both driving back.

I was under the impression he was already down there, but yeah, driving down with a friend to go get and driving back with a friend following is the simplest solution. And yeah, I wasn't thinking about the width of the dolly, it was a bit of a tight fit IIRC when I rented one to tow home a CJ7.
If you're already down there it would suck to have to go hime and then go back for it but in the longer run it might be the best solution.
