High Miles Or Low Miles Or Brand-New?
Wow my first thread in a long time. Anyway
I was very curious, when you buy a car, it could be anything, a Bonneville, a Honda, etc. D you prefer low miles, average miles, or high miles, brand new, or are you one of those people who don't care for the number of miles. For me, I refuse to buy a car that has over 80 thousand miles, unless I know it was very well taken care of. I like cars in the 60-75 thousand miles. Of course I would love to have a brand new car but I don't got the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Good question.
Heres my luck pretty much:
1989 Toyota Corola 140K miles: $500 Some rocker panel rust. Get pulled over by a DOT cop, forced to junk it after owning it for a year and a half which forces me to buy another car.
Next Car: 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS w/152K miles $2700. Keep and drive that car for almost 6 years ending with 218+k Miles, but forced to get rid of it because I cant pass emissions when I moved to MA.
Next Car my 94 Bonne w/ 179K miles $3200 Still have it 184K on it currently.
See the pattern? lol I usually cant afford a newer car with less mileage on it so I end up with High Mileage cars that last a couple few years then circumstances beyond my control forces me to buy another High Mileage car :?

If you dont plan on trading it in ever high mile cars are fine. I would choose new high miles car over an older low miles car. Just my honest opinion.

I don't worry about miles. They definately play a factor in what I will pay for the car but they don't make up my mind on buying it or not. The overall condition of the car and options is what I look at.
My '99 GP has over 210k miles on it and runs very strong. Drives like its brand new and runs better than new.

Most of the cars I get are "mechanics specials" or fixer uppers, but I don't pay a lot for them. I go through a lot of car too, I'm on my third new car this year, and haven't sold any, but I need to.
