Election Day

I don't know about the rest of you but I sure am glad its finally here so I don't have to be subjected to any more mudslinging commercials

I have only one person that I know for sure I will vote for. He is my District Attorney buddy and he's running for judge. It pays to know people in high places ;)

Pearl_bonnie02 11-07-2006 10:11 AM

I'm with you on that! I'm sooooo sick of every commercial being these stupid people talking crap about other people. Normal TV here we come!! :D

corvettecrazy 11-07-2006 10:14 AM

I didn't even know it was election season....Guess that is what happens when you dont have a tv.

yay for it being over, I guess.

VOTE

Yeah, I just got done voting myself about an hour ago. Thank god its over, for now. Its hard to get people enthusiastic about voting in Florida, a lot of people here think its rigged. :grouchy: And if a certain someone wins a certain race in FL today I'll out right know it is!

dbeast420 11-07-2006 10:25 AM

I'm waiting for the rain to slack off before I go vote ;)

I had several that were campaigining come by and knock on the door. I took their literature and said
"Thanks, just adds to the list I'm voting against"

Mike 11-07-2006 10:29 AM

Yep, my mailbox has been riddled with voting garbage, and this morning I found more shit on my door and mailbox. I should send it back to them.

vital49 11-07-2006 10:30 AM

I'm going at lunch to vote for everything on the Michigan ballot.

Ryan 11-07-2006 10:41 AM

My name is Ryan, and I approve the termination of these campaigns...

It's even worse when you don't even live in said country and still have to deal with them, haha.

Cheetah 11-07-2006 10:46 AM

I be gald to see all the BS "were gonna do this and that" campagin commercials finally end!

Where is 2006 going?!?!?

SSsuperchargedEi 11-07-2006 10:48 AM

woo hoo no more commercials and phone calls!!!

PontiacMom 11-07-2006 10:54 AM

Wow, are your commericals ever nasty! We see them of course because we get US feeds from the satellite, and so we see the mudslinging going on  . It is almost comical, and I noticed in the last election that we had, there was a little mudslinging going on there :?

I am just happy it is over with ;)

Ya, isn't it nice how politicians are exempt from having to follow the rules of the Do Not Call List?

Or the do not litter law.

BLACK94SSEi 11-07-2006 11:28 AM

I dont even Vote which makes it more irritating to see these mudslinging ads constantly on TV radio and billboards!!

Im just about sick of it and for this very reason is why i dont vote. I think politicians are fake, and I can see right through them as if they are transparent.

They say one thing, then do another once their in office.

it would be nice to see one voting season go buy where the canidates can only promote themselfs without mentioning their opponents. that would be nice...

Amen to that. I can't agree more. Lets base it on their actual achievments and not the twisted version of the other party's doings.

I know, only in a perfect world would such things happen. We all have more of a chance of living happily ever after than politicians not bashing one another.

jwakamud 11-07-2006 12:09 PM

i dont care if the antichrist ran at this point, if he ran a campaign and didnt sling at his opponents, id probably vote for him.

im sick of it. and heres the kicker: it doesnt matter. were all sick of it but it doesnt matter. and do you know why it doesnt matter? because theres too many of them. cut one down and two more replace him.

what more, ive called back on the number provided on two of the answering machine messages. by law, theyre required to let us request not to be called. called them back, got a machine and no information at all about how to contact them. just trash about so-and-so.

BonneMeMN 11-07-2006 12:42 PM

Either I was exposed to it more this year (dunno, been very busy) or It's MUCH worse then I remember. But I did stick with the smoking ban that's up for referendum, and the bill that allows all new car tax to be spend on road work.

How can they be allowed to call mobile phones which do not have free incoming minutes like a land line? Can I send each part a bill of my used up minutes at the end of the election season?

P.S. is it an election the same way it's deer season now? Can we shoot a lot of them because they're a local pest?

GonneVille 11-07-2006 03:53 PM

Well, I watched a couple cycles of local coverage, and once again I can clearly see a pattern in which polling places are having problems with the electronic voting machines. Every single troubled polling spot they show on the news here in Columbus is either in a heavily black district, or in a heavily Democratic district. And they already had to shut down two machines for vote flipping(you press one button, and it lights up the opposite selection.
