Valentines Day is comming up (rant-a-riffic)
I just looked at the calender, and I just realize something...Valentines Day is comming up. The time of the year of those cutesie wootzie flowers, dental decay promoting icon hearts, and, dare I say it, those damned chocolates in heart-shaped boxes. C'mon folks. Even when I was a kid, Valentines Day wasn't fun...just ask those that I went to school with. And divorce, despite the problems it solved, ain't helpin' matters out. Fact is, I'm kinda jaded when it comes to love and relationships. Valentines Day, for me, means one thing....and that is to buy a stuffed animal that is specific to the day, string its sorry *** up, and have at it with slingshots, dart guns, paintball guns, suriken, you name it. Don't knock it...it'* therapy, and way cheaper than a couch session. For some extra fun, buy some of those chocolates. Stick them in a freezer, or if you can find one, a CO2 fire extinguisher will chill them off in a hurry. Then, once hardened, get a golf tee and a baseball bat. Ladies and Gents, you see where I am going with that idea? Hey, it IS V-Day afterall, so spread the love and give chocolates to complete strangers, via airmail.
Looking at the calender again, I am off on Valentines Day. It damn well better rain in the evening, as that is when all the couples go and celebrate their coupleship with dinner, movies, maybe even go to an adult store, or maybe Spencers. It would be better if it iced over that night, but this IS Orlando so rain is the most I can ever hope for. And while it'* raining, I will be on my computer playing a first-person shooter game with a special "v-day" mod...Cupid, Heart, and Red Rose will be in play, all armed with....yup, bows and arrows. Whilst I brandish a modded BFG. Would it be a fair fight? Hell no. If real life ain't fair, why should the virtual one be?
For the ladies that are reading this, and are thinking how embittered I am and how I need to be shown otherwise, consider my point of view: I have YET to find a girl/woman/female/lady/dame that absolutely takes my breath away. I hope to find her someday, and at times I do consider myself to be a hopeless romantic. But until that day comes, I will continue with my own brand of "therapy".
End Rant. And Happy Upcomming Valentines Day.

I don't believe in Valentines day, never have. I believe that you should show your mate the same love everyday.
sandrock- one day you will find the right woman for you and you might have a different outlook on things then. Don't feel bad because I've only met one man that took my breath away but that was when he was choking me
Hang in there..... This too shall pass

I could care less about Valentines Day really. It a pointless hallmark holiday to take our money lol. Being a girl, u'd think I'd care about this sort of crap, but no not really. If I get something, ok. But if not no biggie.
And sandrock, she'* out there, you will find her.

When I brought up Valentine'* Day to my girlfriend she replied with "I dont care where we go or what we do as long as Im with you".....so I think Im pretty safe as far as that goes.
It still sucks though, because even though she doesnt care, I still feel compelled to do something that I wouldnt normally do for her, why? Because its what society tells us we have to do.
Plus, when shes swapping stories with all her girlfriends and theyre talking about the sweet things their boyfriends did, I dont want her to have to sit there and say "my boyfriend didnt get me anything...hes fighting societal norms".
But yeah, Valentines Day is just one of the many holidays thats turning into nothing but a moneymaking machine.

I haven't made a dime off of it.... Do you know something I don't?
