This morning the roads were pretty bad as we had rain all night which froze over with about 2" of snow on top of it. Anyway, I was following about 3 other cars at 35 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. All the cars in front of me are totally fine, as are the cars behind me. All the sudden the rear end of my car starts to bounce a little bit then the rear end totally swings out from under me and I go straight into a grove of trees at 35 MPH a$$ end first.
I don't even know how it happened but this is the third time thsi car has spun out while just driving straight down the road and doing nothing. I doubt it'* me, my old car I had for over 2 years and I drove it in the winter with 0 problems. This is the third time this has happened to me in this car and I'm just really pissed off right now. Sorry, just had to vent. I just don't understand how it happened. The car is really f**ked up now though. it cannot go above 35 without a vibration that'* so bad your feet start to go numb after a while.

I can 100% agree with you on the road conditions of this morning. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to get to work (61 miles). The roads were terrible with spin outs everywhere.

Hopefully you can get 'er back on the road soon...

Oh, sorry to hear winter driving isn't getting off to a good start. Its never fun, but even worse when it starts bad (I would know ).

Something tells me the G-body was not built for snow. Mine feels very unstable in bad weather..its...troubling.

There is nothing more scary than to lose control like that. It happened to me once at the base of a bridge in Chicago. I was in a rwd Ford and all of a sudden I started losing control-then gained control, lost it again and never recovered and slammed into the ditch.

At least YOU weren't hurt!

I live in chicago and since u have the lake winds and rain BAD combo but thats why i drive 5 mph

Sounds like the rear end is too stiff, either by spring or strut/shock.

alright just got home and surveyed the damage a little more. It'* nothing major to the car. But myself is another story.. It just really freaked me out and scared me out of driving in the snow totally. It definately wasn't a great feeling.. I can tell ya that much. It was just bad having that helpless feeling as your car is flying backwards at 35 MPH right toward some trees. I don't even remember what happened or how I missed the trees I just remember yelling "oh my god" with my foot pressed down on the brake as hard as I could as soon as the car slide sideways, and then totally backward. I only happened to hit a few low hanging branches by the grace of god I presume and a fence post maybe? I immediately pulled into someone'* driveway trying to put together what just happened.

The bad vibration turned out to be snow packed into one of the wheels. apparently it was packed in their good enough that the wheel was way out of balance and it made the rear end hop. I couldn't see all the packed in snow because the stock rims are pretty much enclosed so you can't see what'* behind them for the most part.

I think this is damage from maybe a fence post pressing into the plastic fascia?
