Doug is a daddy!
That'* right, everyone... our own Doug Sajak and his wife Amy just gave birth to Lydia Reed! She was 6 pounds, 1 ounce and seems to be doing just fine. I just received the news over the phone so I haven't seen pictures yet, but I know he'll post them when they get home and have some time to relax.
I just can't believe it... Doug has been my best friend since we were 10 years old, and now he'* a father. It blows my mind!
CONGRATULATIONS, BUDDY! I love you like a brother. Give Amy a hug for me!

Boy what a day! Started off Friday night at 9:00PM CST, water broke.... "Oh, okay. Lets get going."
Nothing really eventful, took the dog to crap down at the bike path, walked back, locked him away(poor thing), took off and got Taco Bell for the little lady, figuring it'd be the last thing that she got to eat before birth, and it was....(9:30ish) Stopped at walmart and got a disposable camera that we still haven't used.... I thought it was a dumb idea, but I learned that sometimes it'* best to let the pregnant one win.... I'm sure it will remain unused. So anywho, check in at about 10:45 at Genesis East in Davenport. They check her at around 11:30, and figure since she isn't hurting, she'* not contracting and they'd deal with it in the morning..... WRONG! 7am rolls around and they finally check her because she is in some serious pain finally. Dailated something like 7 cm... This crap carries on until about 10:30am(saturday) when they say she is finally fully dialated, and THEN they wait until 1:50ish to have her start pushing. That goes on and on and on and on and on, and if you look at the clock that I took a picture of, that was the time it took them to realize she couldn't push the little squirt out before they finally decided(she decided for them I guess) to do a c-section. Lots of screaming, groaning, grunting, etc.... Not my cup o' tea, but being ever faithful(or stupid.... that has to be determined), I stayed by her side waiting patiently. It was worth the wait I think.....
Pics are in another thread with a 56k warning. I'll link it when I get everything posted. Some short videos too. Nothing too eventful, but I'm sure I'll watch them over and over and over and cry a little each time.(out of joy you fools!)
All in all, with a Jimmy Johns Gargantuan in my gut, and now a brand new baby daughter(best ******* fathers day gift EVER!), I feel like I'm sitting pretty. So I'm now at home, uploading pics and stuff to send out to peoples, and having a nice cold beer. Sorry I couldn't make the MN mini meet guys, but I think you'll understand
I'll see if I can get some of the dyno charts she was putting out while I sat and waited.... They weren't really dyno charts, but I figure she may as well get into the swing of things and identify things as what they resemble.(heartbeat and contraction graphs.... LOL)

See what i was talking about Doug when i said birth comes infront of everything. I have no kids but being a nursing student i have been able to see birth and as stupid as it sounds it is a beautiful thing. Congrats, and i am waiting to see pics of your daughter.
