My mesh obsesion *sp?*lol *my trucks*
Figured I'd show off my other mesh grille.
This is my 1981 Chevy C10. This is the one that got pushed into the tree. lol

Notice the damage on the pass side. My dad'* temper.

Don't know if you can tell or not, but on the drivers side there is a hole above the taillight. That is where my dad backed into a piece of C channel that was sticking off of the back of a dump truck.

More mods than my bonnie. *'cause I've had it longer*
000_0451.jpg
This is what gets it across the 1/4 mile in 12 secs.
000_0452.jpg
Believe it or not, I do try to keep it clean.
000_0453.jpg
Figured I'd show a few pics of this one. This is my 1966 Chevy C10. It has a 350 that I'm starting to think I'll never get running.
000_0454.jpg
Still looks pretty good.
The brown one will be off the blocks as soon as I get done fixing the tranny. *shortly after Christmas.* The red one will be off the blocks when I grow old and grey.

12 second 1/4 in that truck? I remain politely (for the moment) skeptical. What is it running? To me looks like little more than an extremely tired 350 with an Edelbrock carb (looks like maybe dual quads) and (I assume, from the sticker) a lumpy cam in it.
Anyways, if it'* packing something more serious, by all means share.

Guys, I am not sh*tting you, this truck will run 12s. Ask half the guys that live around Elbert County. They didn't believe me either.

Sorry man, but there'* no way that truck ran 12'*. Well, to be fair, post the 60' times and trap speed, as it will help substantiate your claim.
But a 1981 305 was probably rated at what, 200hp? maybe 220hp stock? (these numbers are generous) Add a hot cam and a low-cfm carb, and (we'll assume) a matching exhuast system (headers and such) and you would be doing well to get 50 hp. Add the 5000 lb+ weight of the truck, and there'* no way 12'* are possible, even assuming the typically shitty truck rear-end was upgraded/replaced.

It is not a 1981 305, it is a 1979 305 from a Caprice. It does have headers and high flow exhaust. And it does not wieght 5000 lbs, it is stripped.

Guys, cut the boy some slack. Actually, that carb visually looks too small to only pump 500 CFM. With ported heads and opened exhaust with (what looks like) around 800CFM double-pumping carb, I could see 12 secs. A slow 12 secs, but 12 secs nonetheless.
And, as stated above, I'd love to see some slips as well.
One main reason I'm backing him up in this is because my dad had an old 4-door '71 Torino that had rust-holes clean through the front floorboards that was easily in the quick 13'*. If you looked at the engine, though, it looked like a stock 351 Cleveland with a 2bbl carb, complete with the blue label on the air filter.
What made it that way was that my dad machined the engine parts himself, bored it out .040 over, milled the heads within .001 offset, and thus increased the compression to slightly above 10/1. He'* a perfectionist machinist.
When I took the car out, I pissed off some Camaros after they looked under the hood and saw a dusty old stock-looking engine after I smoked them on the strip.
