So what is he asking for it?

It has one of the worst engines known to man
It has problems with the engine, which happens to be one of the worst engines known to man
It has problems with the transmission, which is hooked up to one of the worst engines known to man.
The doors openining from the inside only is not all that bad, but sucks if somebody plays with the child saftey lock <happened on my moms taurus, turned out to be a plastic linkage that busted>

The Conti went FWD after Ford gave the go-ahead for Lincoln to use the Taurus chassis. You might be thinking of the Town Car...or the Conti Mark editions (like Mark 5, Mark 6)...the coupe versions.
