Default problem with virus removal

i run norton antivirus and i have what they call a trojan dropper?? well i try to delete the file and it wont let me? what should i do? i run norton 2005 IS

Write down the file and where it is, and go in to Safe Mode and try to delete it.

did you try to remove any reference to it in the registry? try that, then restart, and then try to remove it.

DO NOT JUST DELETE IT!!!! u will regret that.
i have never specifically heard of "trojan dropper", but on norton'* website there should be a patch to remove it... just look up the name.
btw i would disconnect that pc from the internet untill u got the problem fixed. and u need to figure out who gave u the trojan, dont download anything from that person again.... a trojan is used to allow someone remote access to your pc without your permission.

ok ive done a little bit of research for u a trojan dropper installs 1 or more other trojans... and here is a url to a page with removal information on nortons website... sorry but they dont have a patch for this one http://securityresponse.symantec.com...n.dropper.html

I think you got what I had...seriously bad stuff. Mine just kinda slowed down my computer and was a general annoyance but I had no luck finding a way to get rid of it. Running the online virus scan (I got the link from a couple guys on here...Sol, maybe was one) worked for a bit. I ended up doing the great reformat which of course solved the problem.
