JOB VENTTING TIME!!!
*WARNING: This is not directed at any one here *
Wow people need to grow a few more brain cells.
As some of you may know already, I do phone tech support for TurboTax…
And WOW I get some really STUPID people on the phone. I don’t even know how these people even live. I mean they can’t RIGHT CLICK the F’ing mouse to get the menue to come up, and they don’t know where there START button is in WINDOWS, Yes IN WINDOWS “the Start Button”, the OS that’* been around with the same START button in the same place sense Windows 95!!!!!
Also people.. people… YEASH!!! If your going to call for help using a program on your computer wouldn’t you think it might be smart to be AT YOUR PC?…. So many people call in asking for help using or install Turbotax and there not even at HOME!!! Come On….
Another thing, If your using a computer program to do your taxes, and the BOX says on it that you must have an internet connection you use it, wouldn’t you think you might need one???..... Iv gotten about 30+ calls so far this year where people don’t even have Dialup. Come on spend the $8 for ONE MONTH and get the internet to get the updates you need….
One last Vent…
If your PC is crashing and having problems with pop-ups and Viruses and other programs don’t work all the time, why do you call me when TurboTax isn’t working right, don’t you think you might want to have your PC looked at because there are many other problems with it…
That is what its like at my job each and every day… I just needed to vent before my head EXPLODES!!!!
This is what its like -\/, vunny video Maybe PG-13, i think theres a choose

At my company, my turnover rates:
Sales: 18-24 months
IT:
- Engineering: > 48 months Haven't had anyone leave yet
- Internal Support: 18-24 months
- Technical Support: 3-6 months
I find that people who call in for tech support tend to be retards in general myself :P

Not to be critical either but I called Turbo tax because of the way my It'* Deductible was printing out on my 1040 form and spent over an hour with them only to be referred back to their web site to call into the same tech support number.
I was not able to fix the problem but I did a work around to achieve the display of text that I needed. Took over an hour for me to come up with the work around.
There are two sides to each story and sometimes both are not the right side. LOL
It takes a strong stomach to work in customer service.

I feel your pain, man. I do Customer Service for "the other tax software" company'* e-store (and tens of thousands of other e-stores). Been doing it now for about 5 years.
There are ver many people out there that should not own computers.
I sometimes wish even a basic computer cost several thousand dollars. Then not everyone and their gramma would own one.

I also think that you should have to past a test to buy a computer, just to make shure you know the basics..

Actually we figured out it should be a chain of tests.
1. Ownership test - Are you capable of owning a computer? Do you know what reboot, desktop, browser, etc mean? This test must be passed before you are allowed online.
2. Online test - Can you use a browser? Do you know what an address bar, search engine, web/e-mail address, etc are? (basic online terminology)
3. Online interaction test - You are allowed to use online forums, where you have the ability to pre-read and edit your online activity prior to it actually going online
4. Chat test - You have shown you can post in a forum. Your are no allowed into chat rooms, and the use of an IM
5. Online purchasing - You have shown the ability to post online and think before you post. You are now allowed to buy things online

So when I go for a computer job, I am not going to be helping competent folks who just need a bit of help?
Will people be asking what a mouse is? Will they be asking how to put a CD into the cd rom?
Working with the public sucks. You simply have to make sure your customers are NOT afforded the opportunity to think. You have to think for them.
