Did you know....
.... Apparently the 6 volt batteries you can buy at the store for about 5 or 6 dollars each contain 32 AA batteries? I don't know if this holds true for ALL 6 volt batteries, but I just watched a video on another guys computer here showing a 6 volt battery being gutted and 32 AA being removed. The 6 volt was just labeled "Heavy Duty". No real indicator on the manufacturer. Anyone else know anything about this?

Same thing with those little almost AA sized 12 volt batteries you get for 6 to 8 bucks (or less). They're full of the $5-6 button batteries you need for your alarm remote, etc...

I can't find anything on the big 6 volts right now, but here's the info I was talking about
copy and paste the link since they allow non-standard characters http://www.instructables.com/id/12-Volt-Battery-Hack!-You'll-be-Surprised.../ or this one http://www.instructables.com/id/12-Volt-Battery-Hack!-You-won't-believe-your-eyes!/?ALLSTEPS ;) |
I loved those instructables, especially the second one!!!

those links are giving me a Error 404.. anyone else see em?

The same thing holds true in rechargeable batteries. If you get a D- cell and open it you will find an AA cell. If the D cell is a high capacity you might find two AA's - LOL

I learned this about the 6 volt battery thing. Not all 6 volt batteries are the same. i think one of the links MOS posted says that same thing. Rayovac 6 volt batteries do NOT contain AA's. I intend to pick up a couple different brands and see what the guts look like. I'll let you know in case someone is interested.
