End of an Era......?
Well.... for those of you that don't know (pretty much everyone except Jim W)....
I proposed to my girlfriend of 6 and a 1/2 years on Dec 26th 2003.
We're getting married. So now it'* time to start paying off the ring ($5000 Cdn) and start saving for the wedding... once the ring is paid off.... 2005 or so.
She'* NOT a car person... she'd easily take a bus (big vehicle on the road that sometimes gets it'* own lane and stops at all railroad crossings)... ugh.
She doesn't understand why the car(*) must be kept super clean at all times.
But she does obey the rules, no eatting/drinking in the cars.
She doesn't understand (or like) the fact I probably spend more money on my cars.
.... and that'* the era that is ending...... no more "unnessecary spending on the cars"
We just signed the lease on our first apartment.... it'* a really nice place... heated ceramic floors, hardwood, top floor of our building.... good area.... and best of all... heated underground garage!!! w00t!! (free parking for 1 car, and $30/month for extra parking)
The 91 is currently stored at my parents place for the winter, so no need to move it right now.
Anyways.... I guess it'* the end of an era... the time of spending whatever "extra" money I had on my rides has past.... time to start "saving" and "building for the future"...
I guess no GPS, DVD, NAV, Turbocharger, or leather for the 91 this decade.
Anyways, I just figured I share that will all of you...
Wish me luck! (laughs nervously)..... hehe

Congrats!!!!
And I think the 'unnecessary spending on cars' clause can be negated with 'unnecessary chores around the house'. As in, you doing 'em. Fair trade, in my humble opinion :"P

Whoa, wait a minute. I don't think it is fair that you have to give up your passion for cars. You have to have a hobby. If she is like most of us women she likes to shop (even just a little). I think it is healthy for you to have your hobby (in moderation) and she can have hers. If by some chance you can get her interested in cars that will make your relationship all the sweeter! It is called the art of compromise and that way you both get what you want and it makes for a happy life. Until you leave your boxers on the floor
