Definitely not GM related . . .

Curious if anyone here has experience with this:

Let'* say for example that someone like me happens to own a Class A motorhome that has more than eight cylinders in its engine. Then one day, this theoretical and handsome person comes to the conclusion that the current 5.38:1 differential ratio in the Dana 135 is a bit too tall. Because of this, this increasingly impressive person pulls out a spreadsheet and does some math. This detailed math shows that a 6.14:1 would be the best compromise between low-end starts and highway engine speed. If this theoretical and increasingly magnificent person were to want to swap the 5.38:1 for the 6.14:1, how involved of a job would they be getting themselves into? Is this something that can be done by changing the ring and pinion or does the carrier etc. need to be changed with it?
