Keep in mind what it'* up against: the then-brand-new 300c. We're talking RWD Hemi V8, with sat/nav and a beautiful interior. I've driven a 300c before, and I must say, that it'* a LOT better of a driver than a 2000+ SSEi (haven't driven a GXP). One of the things I've never liked about the 2000+ Bonnies is its steering. They're right, even though it'* terrific in the twisties, it has almost no feedback... So yeah...

I remember when they did this. You just have to pick through the information they give. So long as you can decern between fact and opinion. Comparing the GXP to the Crown Vic is a joke (provided its not a Police Interceptor). And though the Hemi is an amazing engine, its surrounded by a car that lacks in quality. Cheap plastic interior trim and poor build quality make the price tag a little hard to handle. Not to mention that the 300C isn't exactly light on its feet. Not to mention that the look of the Bonneville is unparalled...IMO

The 3.70:1 axle ratio tries to compensate for the cammer V-8'* lack of low-end tug, at least relative to the old supercharged 3.8-liter pushrod V-6 that once powered top-end Bonnevilles. It largely succeeds, but the Bonnie'* lithe-shifting four-speed transmission is one ratio short of driveline nirvana.

I have that issue, lol. I used to subscribe to C&D, but they are extremely biased towards new designs. Did anyone else notice the godly praise the new Mustang got when it first came out? 300C got the same thing, it was new so it was better than everything else. I think that was a totally idiotic comparison anyway.

Don't read to much into that. The 300C is a joke all around. God awful styling, awful interior, awful exterior FAR to many engine choices (I swear we're littered with the terrible 2.7 fleet cars and the wannabes with the 3.5). The 5.7 is respectable because its a proven engine and gives good power.
The part that makes me laugh the most about the 300C, is 75% of them have blown HID headlamps, and for some reason the driving lights turn off when a turn signal is on, quite funny.
They should revisit this comparision next year when the G8 comes out.

Rob...if it'* any condolense..I thought the same when you were next to me on the road.. "it'* so so.." lol
I agree on the Hemi and the new designs. They are anything but aerodynamic and for the test..I believe they babied the heck out fo the hemi and beat the tar out of the others. Hands down everyone I know that has a Dodge product says it'* gallons per mile and one must preplan every trip by how close the nearest station is to feed the hungry bastards.
