Looks great, what were you drinking out there to stay warm and motivated?

Jonpro03 02-22-2011 09:31 AM

Definitely a delicious looking day!

Was a good week temperature wise. The first day was right at freezing, the second upper 30's and the last (pictured) upper 40's. I even had my Carhard jacket off and got my face sunburned it was so bright. The last two shots so the melted snow pooling on the lake. No worries, it was a little over a foot thick. Nice safe depth and not to hard to hand auger.

Guns, with the Methocarbamol for my back and Tramadol for my leg and ankle (or lack off.....) just my enriched coffee gets me up and ready for most anything. After that a couple beers helps the day stay relatively pain free and mentally entertained. :-P

Mrs V went the first day, I'll post some of them up later when I upload them. She's pretty amazing for a city gal. She caught the first of the day and the most with a pole. We are allowed to put up 4 tip ups and 1 pole per person. The tip ups generally do most the work.

You might consider always having a bottle of this on hand. A bottle will last many years, and it is oh so good, burning good. Don't even need to drink much of it to warm you up, a few sips does wonders. It is the only aged rum I know of that blends the rum Before aging, all the other aged rums blend after aging. I discovered this stuff while in Guyana and can not beleive how unknown it is in the USA.

I like my non blended scotch for that bite. I guess it's a taste preference. To me nothing comes close to

In a cup of strong coffee. It warms me like nothing else.

"Glenfiddich"

I'll have to try some, after I learn to drink scotch...... My Dad was a big fan of scotch, but he seemed to like the cheap Chivas Regal as he got older.
