My mouse does the same thing.. Mine also will also quickly move itself to the bottom left corner and dissapear faster than is humanly possible. Is your mouse optical, or one of the old mice with a ball?

defintally go with an optical mouse, my old roller ball mouse was REALLY awful for that kind of thing. my new one is excellent
|
balls rule  ok so mice with a ball isn't the best.
but mine works :D |
Ball mice are fine, you just got to clean the junk off the rollers every now and then.
Anyone ever get a hair stuck under their optical? I have, makes using the mouse impossible. |
my optical wanders at times... but that could be the bass moving it....
|
best solution for that mouse is a BFH, then go out and get an optical mouse, they aren't that expensive to pick up either.
|
lol....but in the meantime....flip it over, twist off the bottom panel, (don't lose the ball though!). You'll see three rollers....they're just plastic shafts....dirt/crap will get on them....I pick it off with my fingernails...but in the event you don't have ones long enough...use a toothpick or q-tip...try not to let the dirt fall back down into the mouse....(blow it out if necessary)....
It may not be the best way to do....but it works.... oh yea....put the ball back in....twist the panel back on....wha-La! |
my cat will move my. She likes watch it move across the screen, kind of werid.
|
it could just be the type of surface its on, if its a ball mouse it should either be on a mousepad or some other kind of surface that isnt too smooth so the ball can actually grip, if its an optical, its best to have it on a smooth evenly colored surface, my optical is on a wooden desk and the grain of the wood is enough to confuse it at times
|
good point about the surface....but if it is a ball mouse....he's had it for a year....it's probably just dirty...
