Bullet
My brother is stationed on Bolling AFB in D.C., he awoke this morning to find this on his Ford. He says it happened sometime last night. Thankfully no one was outside when it did happen. Anyone ever watch the episode of Mythbuster'* when they try to determine if a bullet fired up into the air could kill someone after falling back down?

Wow! Was a bullet found or could it have been hail? I know the area. Dad was stationed at Andrews and lived near Bolling Field for a time for a time. I it was a bullet could have come from a large area. And there are some very seedy neighborhoods in the vicinity.

Sorry, prolly need to scroll right to see the bullet sitting next to the dent in the hood. Yea, he found the bullet sitting in front of his Focus in the driveway.
I tried telling him that he needed to get rid of that car or I was going to shoot it! Yea, from 400 miles away.

If it weren't that you can plainly see the rifling on the jacket, I would agree with you. That bullet looks as it it came down almost srtaight to make that dent.

that episode of mythbuster just concluded that a bullet shot STRAIGHT up and returning wouldn't achive velocity needed to penetrate a skull and inflict a killing blow. But wasn't the speed the calculated something like 90mph?( i could be off) still would hurt like hell and would be enough to leave a good dent in a car.

Yep, seen that episode also. I knew that would come up. I sent this picture up to a civilian in Fort Drum that is a weapons expert. Hopefully he will be able to tell what kind of round this is.
