Read the books. The gadgets were almost pure Hollywood. The real (aka Book) Bond didn't use them as much as the Movie Bond.

That, and this is supposed to be the "first" Bond movie, so basically he's still probationary. You gonna give some newbie all the best gear?? :lol:

As for the lady dieing, Didn't Roger Moore Bond bury his wife? Or at least visit her grave??
