If I had the money it would be a Ford Thunderbird (yes, I know this is a GM forum, so sue me) with the opera windows in candy apple red.
What is it with car manufactures taking cute little coupes and turning them into granny cars before someone smacks them upside their heads with a ball bat to get them to realise how stupid they were?
Or, I would die for an Avanti; original or reproduction, that would beat any other car for me.

So far, the Silverado is a loosing choice. Even lifted. Oh well.
I had the most success with my 73 Buick Electra 225. Blue on blue with whitewalls and all. But the 455 under the hood was anything but stock. And with some really nice headers, true duals with glasspacks, it sounded nuts. Looked like a nice highway cruiser until you put your foot down. And it rode like a cloud. Everyone wanted to hear it start up, wanted me to peel out, wanted to ride in it, wanted to drive it, it was nuts. My friend and I could pull up in the middle of downtown in the college town I was in, and immediately it pulled all the attention away from whatever else happened to be parked around.
Guess it was just unusual, and different. In a sea of firebirds, camaros, and mustangs, this car just stuck out. I remember a bunch of girls thinking that the high/low beam switch on the floor was the coolest thing in the world.
I miss that car....

Well, their loss I guess, cuz the cap is staying. I haul stuff all the time that needs to go back there, not to mention it makes a great platform to camp out of. People here don't camp out of tents, they camp out of the back of trucks with a "cap". You just all back up to a bonfire, sit on the tailgate, then sleep in the bed.
A huge amount of the trucks, not even counting the contractors rigs up here have a cap.
Trust me, its the schmuck behind the wheel, not the cap. You could put me in a Ferrari 599 or even F40 for a week, and it wouldn't change a thing.
Besides, my stick figure decal looks awesome on there!
